Sometime over last summer a fire wiped out thousands of the beautiful Wickham’s Grevillea (Grevillea wickhamii) on the track to the south end of Purnululu National Park.
A short exploration of parts of this area today revealed hundreds of thousands of small seedlings that have regenerated from seed. The seedlings are the plants with the wide, holly shaped leaf in the photo. Sometimes this species is also known as the holly Leaf Grevillea, and has red flowers.
